Peyote Stitch

Please be patient with the animations; depending on the speed of your connection, they may run slowly. Peyote stitch patterns are worked from charts such as the partial pattern for a bookmark shown below. The charts are often created with the beads shaped as Delicas, which square up nicely to eachother, though peyote stitch may be worked in just about any size of seed bead. Triangle beads can also be used, but the weave will tend to roll into a tube because of the shape of the beads. The numbered diagram shows the rows as they would be worked.
