Peyote Stitch—odd count

In this free animation, you'll learn odd count peyote stitch. We suggest that you master even count peyote stitch first, using the previous tutorial pages. Odd count peyote stitch is worked in much the same manner, but the weave at the end of every other row is a bit different. The thread must be positioned properly in order to work the next row. Follow the animation below for the proper path of the thread.

For each row that you complete, you must loop back into the preceeding row (not into the next row as you would in even count peyote) and then criss-cross in a kind of "figure eight" manner through several beads as shown in the animation above.
