Surface Beading—Larger Beads

Oval beads, such as pearls, can be laid on their sides (as in the animation below) or they can be made to stand up by anchoring them with a seed bead (as shown in the bicone animation).

  




Bicones can be anchored with a sead bead to stand upright (shown in left diagram and photographs) or they may need to be supported under the sides with seed beads (shown in right diagram, not photographed).

  


  




Faceted rounds can be stood upright with a seed bead anchor (as shown in bicone animation) or sewn from side to side, looping twice for extra support.
